Bishops' album, "The Shawhank Redemption / Angola 3"
In the early 1970s a monstrosity occurred in the southern parts of our great country. A monstrosity no different than any other monstrosity committed throughout history; however, a monstrosity seldom known to today’s generation. Almost 40 years ago, deep in rural Louisiana, three young black men were silenced for trying to expose continued segregation, systematic corruption, and horrific abuse in the biggest prison in the United States, an 18,000-acre former slave plantation called Angola.
